My name is Nick, I do audio mastering. 

I caught the mastering obsession when I was learning to record my own music. Over time, mastering  turned from an obsession to a professional endeavor. Mastering coincides with my formal background in music theory and composition where critical listening, technical understanding, and artistic impulses all meet. I use a mix of transpatent analog tools to create a sense of depth within the stereo image, and digital tools for precise repair, correction, and achieving optimal loudness. However, in my opinion mastering is primarily a process, rather than processing.  I have found nothing replaces an outside perspective with that listens well with technical understanding.
